Houghton-Kearney Kindergardeners make cards for the troops!

Mrs. Tamara Thompson's 2007-2008 Kindergarten class at Houghton-Kearney Elementary School in Fresno, CA is proud to have had the opportunity to make Easter and 4th of July cards for our troops!

The Kindergartners at Houghton-Kearney Elementary made cards for the troops and wounded veterans for Easter and Fourth of July.

Houghton-Kearney School also participated in a card making program for our troops and recuperating wounded veterans at Easter. When asked to make more cards to send to the troops for the upcoming Fourth of July, the school did not hesitate!

With the assistance of Military Order of Purple Heart (MOPH) member and Korean War Veteran Tony Yaquinto (USMC), the cards were sent on to the troops with gratitude and appreciation..

"Already we're hearing back from the recipients, and they love the kids' cards!", commented Mr. Yaquinto. "We look forward to having the kids at Houghton-Kearney make more cards for the coming holidays".

Post 236 sends out a big "Hoo-Rah" to the kids and teachers of Houghton-Kearney and their generous dedication to supporting our men and women in harms way.
