Houghton-Kearney School also participated
in a card making program for our troops and recuperating wounded veterans
at Easter. When asked to make more cards to send to the troops for the
upcoming Fourth of July, the school did not hesitate!
With the
assistance of Military Order of Purple Heart (MOPH) member and Korean
War Veteran Tony Yaquinto (USMC), the cards were sent on to the troops
with gratitude and appreciation..
"Already
we're hearing back from the recipients, and they love the kids' cards!",
commented Mr. Yaquinto. "We look forward to having the kids
at Houghton-Kearney make more cards for the coming holidays".
Post 236 sends out a big "Hoo-Rah" to the kids and teachers of Houghton-Kearney
and their generous dedication to supporting our men and women in harms
way.
